In 2009, MGM Resorts International opened the 18-million-square-foot CityCenter complex, which contains more than 6,000 hotel rooms, 2,400 condominiums, 38 restaurants and bars, a convention center, a shopping mall, theater and a 150,000-square-foot casino. The size of the complex combined with the demand of the desert climate created a perfect opportunity to introduce 744 Danfoss VLT® drives throughout the facility—a project that, to date, has proven results capable of saving over 58 million kilowatts per hour over 24/7 operation for a full year.
